Creators
Creators- City of Walls is
the collaborative effort of Abede Lovelace and Shaun Noel. Abede represents
the visual end of the series, while Shaun represents the literal.
Shaun and Abede have worked together for a few years now. City of
Walls actually represents their 3rd creative endeavor as a team. They
met while working for a website. One day at the office it came up
in conversation that Shaun was a writer and was working on breaking
into comics. At the time Abede was attending school to be able to
draw comics for a living
himself. The idea was put forth of the 2 collaborating on a comic
strip. It never materialized. But shortly thereafter Abede approached
Shaun on working together on a pitch for DC. After a lot of meetings
and drawings that project too came to nothing. But having actually
worked with each other the 2 had chemistry enough to give it another
go. A few other projects would come and go before the team came up
with City of Walls. The website they worked for has long since gone
out of business and both have grown tremendously both as people and
creators.
Having completed their first book the team has seen many changes and
new
opportunity. Most of which were completely unexpected. Magazine interviews
and sit downs with movie folk to name
a few. Also the team is no longer a team of two. Other people have
signed up with the unit. One in particular is Bianca Jones, Bianca
is the digital end the project and very talented in her own right.
She's the one responsible for the website you are reading now. Her
involvement will be increasing as time passes.
Right now the team is bunkered down working on the second book. The
project has
grown in size, scope and quality. It will debut at the 2007 NY Con
in February.
